A MINIMALIST’S GUIDE to LIVING a MINDFUL LIFE

Oh, the charm of Amsterdam! I could easily have been born there.

Yes, Amsterdam happens to be one of my favorite cities in the world. It's not only the warmth of the people and the cultural contrast – but also the architecture and the beautifully preserved canal homes.

Thomas Geerling is the Founder and Art Director of Studio Framework. He renovated this (in his own words) "rundown home" in Grachtenviertel as a personal project and completed it in less than a year. He and his wife had wanted to move to that part of Amsterdam for the longest time and with the help of his studio they made it a reality.

The interiors were meant to remain "imperfect". Thomas wanted to keep some of the unfinished feel and have the home serve as a stage for their art, including the two sofas he designed for their dinning-room area. Visibly, they were able to achieve every one of their goals.

This renovated home is a gem in the busy-yet-charming streets of Amsterdam.

Jotun has launched their new range of colors for 2019 – and it is absolutely what I expected from Jotun (and then some). Jotun is a reference in new color trends and design inspiration. Their color cards often determine what we will see in people’s home throughout the year – and justifiably, they’ve grown bigger and stronger over the years.

Their new collection is divided into 3 categories: calm, refined and raw – and every color does justice to each category. This year we’ll be seeing trends move from stronger shades to beautiful, muted – almost pastel – tones that perfectly compliment each room.

Personally, I’ve fallen for the 12078 Comfort Grey and 2078 Comfort Grey colors.

    Which is *your* favorite?

Nordiska Kök is the new king of kitchens. Their Nordic inspired kitchens embody the Scandinavian philosophy of slow and meaningful living.

The way they describe what a Nordiska Kök kitchen is:

A kitchen where coffee tastes a little bit better, and where dinner quickly turns into a party. All our kitchens are built to be timeless and last for years, and to leave the lightest possible footprint on world resources.

Every product is locally crafted in Gothenburg, made entirely from scratch to fit each client’s needs and wishes – and the result are these jaw-dropping rooms that you must surely have already seen online. The kitchens are timeless in style, yet perfectly made to withstand the wear-and-tear of time.

This 150sqm apartment located in Denmark, Copenhagen was designed by Natalie Dubroska, a talented interior designer based in Kiev and founder of Dubroska Studio.

Her work stems from very basic principles – those that we often overlook as important in any creative process. She describes the focus of this project as "creating the perfect home", which to Natalie is:

Space, an abundance of light, literate details, every item matters.
    Harmony, silence, good energy.
In decisions, there is a soul, every idea "lived".

    Meaning, feeling, mindfulness, mind.

It is impossible to disagree with such a perfect description – in light of how it plays out in reality.
