A MINIMALIST’S GUIDE to LIVING a MINDFUL LIFE

Feather Drum caught my ever-curious mother's eye as soon as I saw a sample of their products. The shop is a perfectly crafted curation of what they rightfully call "future classics". The philosophy centers on high-quality natural fabrics, modern, timeless shapes and exquisitely-made pieces that merit their place in your wardrobe season after season.

Founder, Kelly-Lee Wright, is a fast-emerging designer, originally from the UK. Her vision on sustainability and ethics are top priority for her – and that’s how she’s creating long-term investment pieces that lessen the environmental impact associated with fast fashion.

As a mother of one 10-year-old girl who rates her interest in clothes by a scale of "comfort" (like I do), I was pleasantly surprised to find a shop that provides that for girls and women alike. How many times have you seen a 5-year-old girl wearing something and wondered if it came in your size? Wonder no more. While the pieces are an exact copy for women and girls, they surely have been creating under the same principles. Girls need to be girls after all.

Their latest Spring/Summer 19 "Aureus" collection was recently launched. "Aureus", derived from the latin word "golden", epitomizes this season both in texture, colour and the state of mind it evokes. Every item is perfect for beach days, golden sands, sun-kissed skins and deep blue oceans.

If you, like us, are part of the world's population that enjoys tropical Christmases, this is a must-peruse shop before the celebrations.

Jotun has launched their new range of colors for 2019 – and it is absolutely what I expected from Jotun (and then some). Jotun is a reference in new color trends and design inspiration. Their color cards often determine what we will see in people’s home throughout the year – and justifiably, they’ve grown bigger and stronger over the years.

Their new collection is divided into 3 categories: calm, refined and raw – and every color does justice to each category. This year we’ll be seeing trends move from stronger shades to beautiful, muted – almost pastel – tones that perfectly compliment each room.

Personally, I’ve fallen for the 12078 Comfort Grey and 2078 Comfort Grey colors.

Nordiska Kök is the new king of kitchens. Their Nordic inspired kitchens embody the Scandinavian philosophy of slow and meaningful living.

The way they describe what a Nordiska Kök kitchen is:

A kitchen where coffee tastes a little bit better, and where dinner quickly turns into a party. All our kitchens are built to be timeless and last for years, and to leave the lightest possible footprint on world resources.

Every product is locally crafted in Gothenburg, made entirely from scratch to fit each client’s needs and wishes – and the result are these jaw-dropping rooms that you must surely have already seen online. The kitchens are timeless in style, yet perfectly made to withstand the wear-and-tear of time.

At the end of every project, I'm usually overcome with the need for introspection. Early in my career, I thought it was due to me still being very young (and as every young person is, a little too consumed with myself and my own life). Now that I'm older, I realize it is quite the opposite of that – or at least to me, it is – an endowing endeavor.

It takes months to turn around a new collection – but strangely enough, it is not the 15-18 hours a day that I put into them that changes me every single time. It's not the weekends spent sitting in my office or the lack of personal time that makes this such a cathartic experience – but rather, it's the process of turning blank pages into something that will help bloggers, even you – to build the business of your dreams, to get excited about blogging again and to dream of one day running your own business and being your own boss.

Each collection I launch starts with the idea of bettering someone else's life – and that process is an incredibly personal one. It peels layers off my own life and my own dreams as I develop each idea.

This collection is inspired by the changes my own style and beliefs have undergone over the past 2 years. I wanted to build pro themes that were still mindful and minimal, that could easily set you up for success, something that you could transform and make your own, that could fit anyone’s brand – and not just compliment it, but better it. I truly hope I've achieved that.

Now, it's time for me to spend a tad bit of time in the sun, exchange the quick plates of toast and hummus for a hearty meal... and let you take your new theme to exciting new places.

As always, it's been a pleasure to create something for you.

I hope you enjoy this collection.

    Love,
    Ana

I cannot point out exactly what it is in this season that feels so inspiring, but everywhere I look, be it fashion, interiors, design – and even food trends – everything is looking so darn interesting lately. And I don't know about you... but I'm dead set on squeezing out every ounce of inspiration because it’s been more than a while since the internet has been so giving.

Fashion (and especially minimal fashion) has never looked this good. We're stepping away from monotones into an era of warmness (and I have zero complaints). In fact, I feel like this change was overdue. Yes, I won't lie... I'm still more into the monochrome scale of fashion – BUT that doesn't mean I cannot live vicariously through these gorgeous pieces, which will make even the least wander-lusty person feel like jet-setting to a far-off destination.

Warrior One is a Yoga Studio located in bayside Melbourne – design by the geniuses of Golden. Inspired by the client’s deep connection to the ocean and the desire to create an organic, sensory experience for guests, Warrior One embodies a holistic approach to wellbeing. The design outcome is both sophisticated and bohemian at the same time, which makes it both equally inviting and pleasantly surprising.
