A MINIMALIST’S GUIDE to LIVING a MINDFUL LIFE

There's one itch that I cannot ever get rid of – the wandering itch. Often I wake up making travel plans for 3-4 years down the road I tell my daughter, "When we go to Paris together…" or, "I'll take you to the best 'Pastel de Nata' place in Portugal…". She gets starry-eyed like me. She's always been a great traveler... ever since her first trip when she was just 3 months old, so I’m sure she’ll always be the best travel companion.

Istoria is now on our list: a beautiful holistic hotel in Santorini, Greece – by Interior Design Laboratorium. ISTORIA Hotel is a unique Mediterranean sanctuary located in a deserted part of the Aegean Sea. The meaning of the name is "story" because this place is inspired by travelers' stories that have visited this place through the years.

The design focuses on the traditional architecture of the Santorini Island, with dominating traditional architectural features like those arched doors, thick washed walls, natural materials and muted color tones paired with strong natural stripped brick colors and textures.

This eclectic hotel offers the visitor a true Greek experience and a story of their own to tell.

Feather Drum caught my ever-curious mother's eye as soon as I saw a sample of their products. The shop is a perfectly crafted curation of what they rightfully call "future classics". The philosophy centers on high-quality natural fabrics, modern, timeless shapes and exquisitely-made pieces that merit their place in your wardrobe season after season.

Founder, Kelly-Lee Wright, is a fast-emerging designer, originally from the UK. Her vision on sustainability and ethics are top priority for her – and that’s how she’s creating long-term investment pieces that lessen the environmental impact associated with fast fashion.

As a mother of one 10-year-old girl who rates her interest in clothes by a scale of "comfort" (like I do), I was pleasantly surprised to find a shop that provides that for girls and women alike. How many times have you seen a 5-year-old girl wearing something and wondered if it came in your size? Wonder no more. While the pieces are an exact copy for women and girls, they surely have been creating under the same principles. Girls need to be girls after all.

Their latest Spring/Summer 19 "Aureus" collection was recently launched. "Aureus", derived from the latin word "golden", epitomizes this season both in texture, colour and the state of mind it evokes. Every item is perfect for beach days, golden sands, sun-kissed skins and deep blue oceans.

If you, like us, are part of the world's population that enjoys tropical Christmases, this is a must-peruse shop before the celebrations.

Jotun has launched their new range of colors for 2019 – and it is absolutely what I expected from Jotun (and then some). Jotun is a reference in new color trends and design inspiration. Their color cards often determine what we will see in people’s home throughout the year – and justifiably, they’ve grown bigger and stronger over the years.

Their new collection is divided into 3 categories: calm, refined and raw – and every color does justice to each category. This year we’ll be seeing trends move from stronger shades to beautiful, muted – almost pastel – tones that perfectly compliment each room.

Personally, I’ve fallen for the 12078 Comfort Grey and 2078 Comfort Grey colors.

The way they describe what a Nordiska Kök kitchen is:
